Talking from personnel experience on GameRanger, A:Once you have Gameranger, and once you were able to join a chat room from a host or made your own, it is better to clarified with the others the rules of the game you want to play, before pressing the start button, also everybody must have their BFME game shut off, for it will open automatically when the host press the start button anyways. B:Once your BFME game opens, it is better for the host to wait for the other players in the lobby of BFME before creating a game. C:It is in the lobby of BFME that you must pick teams if more then 2 players, from there you don't get kicked all the time, like in the chat room of the created game from the host, this is very important, the lobby of BFME is your safe place, no need to spam, no need to panic, and you can always gather there after each game without going back all the way to the chat room of GameRanger.

D:Once your in the chat room of the game that the host has created you might get kick, do not panic join back and spam a few words, plz not like a maniac, just a letter or something every 4 or 5 seconds, or simply switch color again and again. E:If you have difficulty to join the game from the lobby of BFME and you receive a message like 'user time out', or 'serial number already in use' or simply can't join the host's game because it says it's full, you can try hosting a game then cancel it and then join back the host game. F:Remember at the end of every games you can gather in the lobby of BFME If you die you can wait for the other to join you there and restart a new game.If anybody have more or better suggestions please post them, thanks. Well Valsa maybe you can tell me then. Why do i get defeated after 5 mins every single game i tried on rangers?
Tells me im dead. Wich im not doing a thing. Also you might be able to explain me about the lan connection thing.? It tells me somethng about the connection is wrong but it still lets me join. I've seen so many problems on rangers lately. Don't know if ill even keep trying. Tunggle works perfect not even 1 shitty problem.
+ the host is faster aswell. And the 3v3-4v4 games are made better there. And also you dont have to exit ur game or start it all the time.
There's a lobby for enough players and if the host leaves the game goes on. It looks so much easier.

Second if you were able to die after 5 mins, this means you were able to connect, so is it an occasional problem? Third I'm not too good with computers, so maybe in the Tech Support forum you will find better helps. Ps:I only posted this here, cause I tough it would be easier for the users to see and to find instructions on how to use the game on GameRanger.com and since BFME just moved there 4 days ago and the facts that people are experiencing mostly the problems I talked above, well I suppose it was ok to post this in the general section, now lets hope some people can help you better with those technical problems or yours and post them soon. Just because you are the lucky one who doesnt have any problem on tunngle, it doesnt mean that its the best solution for the whole community. I have seen many people struggling with tunngle, also i have seen people struggling with gameranger.
Some guys, knowing what they do, where busy to find out the best solution for us for over 2 weeks. They also stated why they think its the best solution and their arguments made sense to me. I didnt read a single post where people were complaining about gameranger or prefering tunngle, that includes any serious argument. The connection argument doesnt count, because all errors concerning this problem can be fixed. Also saying that the host is faster is bs.
I guess it depends on who is the host. The game goes on if the host quits, its a rumour that it crashes, u are even able to switch the host in the gameranger lobby by clicking on another player.
And as valsa already said:' F:Remember at the end of every games you can gather in the lobby of BFME.If you die you can wait for the other to join you there and restart a new game.' How about you (and not only you) stop moaning and give it a bit of time until we know how to fix problems and how to use it properly. Thx This post has been edited by biHatch: Jan 6 2011, 00:03 AM.
Best Answer: You have to reinstall it if you want to change it. Here are some codes for The Lord Of The Rings Battle For Middle Earth I: 1E4C-5P79-3187-65BA-0DEV 5TBB-SUKR-5658-H243-CDEV 2RAA-L72A-EC1B-U094-JDEV 4C55-E8LE-9O74-K217-6DEV AE8Y-ZHFL-JI3B-A09E-CDEV FBTT-7G8Z-2HPR-7WC5-KXMH HCGY-Z6FY-GNHJ-SGHJ-0HLM HCGY-Z6FY-GNHJ-SGHJ-0HLM DZDD-8NF6-4DBH-YDFB-0HLM FEEW-W94S-6DF5-UB46-0HLM TLV5-VGG9-DFDF-RFFF-0HLM T7GQ-LZEX-FGHF-PFFF-0HLM You have to have 2 different codes on 2 different computer if you want to play multiplayer. I'm the worlds biggest TLOTR fan, happy to help other fans:) Great game. Go to the start menu, then to go to 'run' (in vista you just type 'run' into the search bar and press enter). Once 'run' has opened, type 'regedit' and press enter, a new window should open, on the left there should be a list of the main windows registries.

Double click on the one called 'HKEYLOCALMACHINE', it should then expand to reveal 6 sub-headings, double click on 'SOFTWARE'. In the next list that opens double click on 'Wow6432NODE' (it should be at the bottom), you should now be seeing what basically looks like your program files just listed out in alphabetical order. So double click on Electronic Arts, then on 'the battle for middle-earth'; hopefully you should see a folder in it called 'ergc' or something similar, double click on that, and in the right hand half of the windo you should hopefully see a single file (probably called '(default)', that is where it keeps your serial number, so now its a simple matter of right clicking on it, and pressing 'modify' you can then edit it; i usually just change the last letter on the serial number. The game should now accept it as having a different key to your bros' installations. Tell us some more.

Long ago EA Games turned off online servers of Lord of The Rings series games in January 2011. We didn't like disconnecting midway through the game, who does like it? And community decided to play LOTR series games on GameRanger as an alternative. Actually GameRanger is more than an alternative. I am gonna explain step by step how to play online BfME or any other games on Gameranger. 1- Gameranger setup file and install it. 2- Create a new free account.
GameRanger will prompt you to create a new GameRanger account or use an existing one, and you will need to enter your valid e-mail address. Activate your account and log in. Within minutes you should receive a confirmation e-mail to activate your GameRanger account. If it's not in your inbox, try looking in your junk folder. 3- After setup and login, we need to open port on the router/modem to make sure that we will able to connect other players. If you see the other players with italic letters thats mean you will not able to connect them.
So Gameranger uses UDP port 16000 to connect players each other. If you dont know how to do portforward visit and find your router/modem in there and follow the steps. And after portforward you need check your port (UDP 16000) with this to make sure if portforward done very well. Please see correct results in the picture bellow. 4- If you have done these 3 steps and portcheck tool gives result you like this picture, thats mean you are ready to play online games on Gameranger. But sometimes, players may still have connection problems after done these 3 steps.

Thats because firewall on the router. Turn-off your router/modem's firewall or configure it to let works Gameranger (personally, i have disabled windows firewall too, you don't have to do.) Also if you have an anti-virus program, configure its internal firewall or turn it off (most of them have included a firewall) 5- Finally we are ready to play online games on gameranger. Now open it and pick your games to play online. Please see in the picture bellow.
